The Indian Embassy held a reception today, Monday, in the interim capital Aden to celebrate the 76th Anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of India.
The Indian Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan delivered a speech in which he touted the Indian-Yemeni relationships as historic, robust and constructive.
" Indian and Yemen used to have common ties and experiments in different areas of economy, culture and trade", said Khan.
The Ambassador cited the aspects of cooperation between the two countries saying" India and Yemen established an active cooperation in various fields, mainly in health, education, training and capacity building".
He also touched on the humanitarian aid provided by the Indian government to the Yemeni people.
Dr. Khan reiterated the Indian government's supportive stance in support of stability and development in Yemen.
The Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaybeh celebrated the Yemeni-Indian relations, describing them as historic and deeply rooted.
" India is a key trade partner for Yemen and it has been very cooperative in the fields of education, health and energy", said Buhaybeh.
The Minister highly appreciated the constant support of the Republic of India to the internationally Yemeni government and the UN-led efforts to make peace.
