Deputy Minister of Industry discusses enhancing trade relations with Indian Ambassador

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Salem al-Wali discussed Monday here with Indian Ambassador to Yemen Suhel Ajaz Khan ways to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, they emphasized the importance of increasing trade exchange and facilitating cooperation between businessmen from both countries, as well as ensuring the provision of all necessary facilities to enhance economic relations.

Al-Wali highlighted the significance of opening an Indian Trade Office in Aden, which would facilitate communication and strengthen trade cooperation to achieve the interests of both countries.

He also stressed the importance of creating a suitable environment for investors and businessmen.

Furthermore, al-Wali reaffirmed the government's commitment to enhancing and balancing trade between the two countries, benefiting from India's advanced expertise and industries, and strengthening sustainable strategic partnerships to contribute to economic development.

He praised the substantial cooperation and support provided by the Republic of India to Yemen in various fields.

For his part, the Indian ambassador confirmed that the Indian government is actively seeking to provide necessary support and develop bilateral relations, including recently arranging a shipment of medicines and medical supplies in support of the Ministry of Health.
