Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan is reaffirming the country's commitment to enhancing Arab security and stability, particularly in the face of terror challenges.
He emphasized the importance of the current session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in Tunisia, given the positive developments in the region, such as the truce in Gaza, the liberation of Syria from Iranian influence and the progress secured by the Sudanese military against the rebels.
The Minister highlighted the dangers posed by the Houthi militia, which are supported by the Iranian regime and continue to threaten international navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.
He welcomed the US reclassification of the Houthi militia as a terror group and called for increased security cooperation among Arab countries and the international community to confront terrorism and stop the smuggling of weapons and drugs.
The Ministry of Interior has achieved significant successes in combating organized crime and smuggling, thanks in part to the efforts of the Yemeni Coast Guard.
Major General Haydan also stressed the need for enhanced Arab cooperation in cybersecurity, security training, and supporting Yemeni security services, citing the importance of activating Resolution No. (813) to support the Yemeni Ministry of Interior
