President al-Alimi praises Senator Joe Wilson's stances

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al -Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met with Republican Senator Joe Wilson, a member of the US Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, on the sidelines of the International Security Conference, whose sessions kicked-off on Friday in Munich German.

The conversations covered the national and regional developments and ways to coordinate positions about the issues of common interest first and foremost the threats pose by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias.

President al-Alimi highly praised the steadfast positions of Senator Wilson towards the destabilizing policies of the Iranian regime for security and stability in the region, greatly applauded his forward-thinking vision in understanding and approaching the Yemeni issue, including his frequent calls to work with Yemen's regional allies and international partners in supporting the PLC and the government to restore state institutions and secure its national soil.

Given that this is the best way to eliminate the threats of Houthi militias and other terrorist organizations collaborate with them.

The Chairman of the PLC explained the vision of the PLC and the government about the comprehensive and permanent peace in Yemen and the region, citing the needed American and international support for the Yemeni government to manage the challenges in the economic, development, military and security areas as well as to improve its capacities to restore the state's institutions and take control over all the Yemeni territories.

President al-Alimi heaped praise on the decision of the American administration to re –designate the Houthi militias a Foreign Terrorist Organization, reiterating the government's commitment to closely cooperate with the United States and the international community to implement the designation decision, as this is the best option to press for peace, stability in Yemen and the region
