The International Olympic Committee announced today that the organization of the 2028 Winter Youth Olympic Games will be awarded to Italy.

The committee agreed in its session in the Swiss city of Lausanne to host Italy for the fifth edition of the Winter Youth Games.

The International Olympic Committee said in a statement that the competitions will be held in the regions of Valtellina, Trentino and Cortina, with Cortina also hosting the Winter Olympic Games next year, which it hosts with Milan.
