Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya al-Zindani discussed today, Tuesday, with the Ambassadors of the European Union (EU) countries' Ambassadors to the Republic of Yemen the political, economic and security situations in Yemen, the needed support to help the Yemeni government to provide basic service, improve living conditions as well as the regional developments and the ongoing efforts to make peace in Yemen.
The meeting included the Ambassadors of EU, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
Dr. Al-Zindani underscored Yemen's need for the EU's continuous support to the Yemeni government in various fields.
He also underlined the need for increasing the international efforts to pressure the Houthi militias to earnestly engage in the regional and international efforts to achieve peace, security and stability in Yemen.
The European Ambassadors reiterated their support for any initiatives aimed at achieving a political solution in Yemen.
They also confirmed their countries' commitment to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government in their endeavors to achieve peace and stability, and to work to alleviate the human suffering faced by the Yemeni people.
