Leadership council member Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi meets US ambassador Steven Fagin
[27/01/2025 04:49]

RIYADH - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi met with the US Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin to discuss various developments and efforts to bring peace.

Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi congratulated the US Ambassador on the success of the US elections, and the assumption of power by President Donald Trump in a peaceful transition process.

The Leadership Council member praised the US administration's decision to classify the Houthi militia as an FTO, as an executive decision that will contribute to drying up the militia's fund resources, and restrict many of its terror activities internally and externally, noting that it is a legal and economic tool to isolate Iran's terrorist arms in the region.

Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi noted that the US administration's decision is deserved against terrorist militia that have spread corruption and have worked and are working to destabilize security, emphasizing the significance of the decision and the necessity of joint work between the Yemeni and American governments in this regard.

The member of the Leadership Council also voiced the Presidential Leadership Council and the government's denunciation of the terrorist Houthi militia over kidnapping several of personnel working with the United Nations agencies, international and local non-governmental organizations and a number of workers in embassies in Sana'a.

He emphasized the need to exert more pressure for the immediate and unconditional release of those who were detained last Thursday, as well as those kidnapped since 2021 and 2024 and all detainees.
