[24/01/2025 03:16]

WASHINGTON - SABA
Yemen Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak stressed the government's interest and keenness to work according to a clear perspective and strategy to keep the Yemeni issue at the forefront and on top of the new US administration's attention.

In a statement to the media, on the sidelines of his current visit to the US capital, the premier commended the US administration's decision to re-designate the Houthi militia as a foreign terrorist organization, deeming it a "positive step" in the right direction. He emphasized that this move should be followed by additional measures, particularly in terms of providing direct support to the government or exerting political pressure on the Houthis, as well as expanding cooperation in security and military spheres.

The Prime Minister said, "The world must realize that it has a real and strong partner in achieving stability for Yemen and the region, which is the legitimate government and all its member stakeholders and that the international community must recognize the legitimate government as a real and robust partner in achieving stability in Yemen and the region.
He expressed his expectation that the new US administration will engage more vigorously and broadly with the government to contain Houthi-bred risks and threats, and to address the pressing humanitarian crisis.
