The UK Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Hamish Falconer, has announced an initiative to support the Government of Yemen's Technical Assistance Flexibility Facility (TAFFY) through the launch of the Yemen Technical Assistance Facility (TTAF) by the Donor Partners Secretariat.

At the International Ministerial Meeting to Mobilize Support for the Government of Yemen, organized by the Government in partnership with the United Kingdom, the Minister explained that the initiative includes the deployment of technical advisers to support the Yemeni Government Reform Program in political sectors, and the UK-led TAFFY provides a coordinated approach for international partners to provide capacity and expertise support.

Minister Falconer also announced new support for Yemen in the form of a £5 million increase in humanitarian aid, which will allow tens of thousands of Yemenis to access food, shelter and medical supplies.

Minister Falconer also reiterated the UK's support for the Yemeni Coast Guard, including training and facilitating the launch of Yemen's TAFFY Maritime Security Partnership next month.

During the conference, Minister Falconer said that the Yemeni government presented a clear and unified vision for the future of its country, stressing his country's readiness to lead international efforts to support TAFFY, calling on the international community to join in providing political and financial support to it, through the mechanism established in January 2025, from the deployment of technical advisers to support the Yemeni government reform program, as this program provides a coordinated platform for international partners to provide support and expertise.

The UK is the third largest humanitarian donor to the Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan, providing £144 million in humanitarian aid in 2024 and pledging more than £1.5 billion since 2015.
