PM praises British initiative to convene international ministerial meeting to support the government

Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak praised the British initiative in cooperation with the Yemeni government to hold an international ministerial gathering in New York to mobilize support for the Yemeni government and reformulate the partnership between the government and the donors community in line with action plans defining the Yemeni people's pressing needs.

He made his comment during his conversations today, Monday, in New York, with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) to the Republic of Yemen Abda Sharif over the final preparations to convene the international ministerial meeting which is intended to mobilize the much needed international support for the Yemeni state institutions to sustain its capacities and efforts to achieve the economic recovery.

Bin Mubarak's talks with Sharif also touched on the developments on the national, regional and international arenas including the cease-fire agreement in Gaza and the continuation of the terrorist Houthi militias and the required steps to strengthen the Yemeni state's capacities and its internationally recognized government to preserve the security and international maritime navigation.

The British Ambassador reaffirmed her country's support for the Yemeni government and the reforms it has been making.
Sharif stated that this international ministerial meeting aiming to mobilize the political and economic support for the Yemeni government to work on its top priorities and carry out the economic recovery plan.
