Yemeni gov't: Houthi militias military escalation to evade peace, undermine efforts to end conflict
[15/01/2025 07:12]
NEW YORK-SABA
The Yemeni Government has stressed that the terrorist Houthi militias' ongoing military escalation is intended to escape peace, undermine all regional and regional good offices and UN-led efforts to bring the protracted war to its end and to put an end of the Yemeni people.

The Permanent Representative of Yemen to the UN Ambassador Abdullah al-Sa'adi said "While the Yemeni government condemns the Israeli entity's attacks on Yemen and the violation of its sovereignty, we hold the Houthi militias responsible for dragging Yemen into a conflict field in the region..,".

Speaking today, Wednesday, before the Security Council at the open meeting on the situation in the Middle East (Yemen) al-Sa'adi added" the Houthi terrorist attacks are not in defense of the Palestinian people in Gaza as these militias claim, but rather part of their strategy to impose the Iranian regime agenda—the militias' sponsor—turn Yemen into a launching-pad to threaten security and stability in the region and the world".

The Yemeni government on the Security Council to assume its responsibilities in implementing its resolutions related to this crisis and to take practical measures to pave the way and create a favorable environment towards an inclusive political process that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people.

Al-Sa'adi reiterate that the Yemeni government has always been very keen to deal positively with all regional and UN-efforts aiming to reach a comprehensive political settlement that can ensure to eliminate the coup and restore the state institutions, based on the terms of reference of the agreed political solution, namely the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and the relevant Security Council resolutions, namely resolution 2216.
