Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya al-Zindani met today, Tuesday, with the British Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Abda Sharif.
They discussed Yemeni-British bilateral relations and cooperation and way to further boost joint collaboration in the political, economic and humanitarian areas.
Al-Zindani's conversations with Sharif covered also the latest develoments in Yemen, mainly the ongoing regional and international good offices to bring about permanent and sustainable peace.
Al-Zindani touched on the underway preparations to hold the planned international conference, scheduled to be convened next week in New York, to mobilize the political and economic support for Yemen and to support the government's institutions and efforts to improve basic services and manage the economic hardships.
The Foreign Minister highly praised the UK's role in mobilizing the efforts to hold the international conference, deeply appreciating the British efforts and significant contribution to the humanitarian and development actions in Yemen as well as support for the political process.
The British Ambassador reiterated her country's commitment to pursue its diplomatic and political efforts to establish peace, end the Yemeni people's ordeal.
