Two young girls, Iman Amin Zaher, 6, and Maryam Amin Zaher, 8, suffered injuries when a bomb left behind by Houthi militias exploded in Yemen's Abyan governorate.

The sisters, displaced from Hodeidah governorate, found the explosive device while playing in the IDPs camp in Hisn Saeed Village, Shoqra, and unaware of its danger, played with it until it detonated.

Houthi militias have left a trail of hidden dangers across Yemen, abandoning bombs and landmines in areas they've retreated from during years of conflict.
This has led to numerous tragic incidents, including recent cases in Hodeidah, Sana'a, and Hajjah governorates.

The Shoqra District police have urged international and local organizations to intervene urgently, calling for decontamination efforts and community awareness campaigns to prevent similar incidents.
The goal is to ensure public safety and prevent further harm from explosive remnants of war.
