Al-Arada calls for further international support to help gov't doing its job

RIYADH - SABA
The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Sultan al-Arada called for greater and immediate international support to enable the government doing its job and delivering on its obligations toward the fellow citizens.

He made it clear that a substantial and immediate international support is urgently needed to sustain the government's efforts to allay the Yemeni people's suffering, Improve their living conditions and satisfy their aspirations to security and stability.

He voiced his appeal during his talks today, Monday, with the American Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

The conversations covered a number of topical issues in the Yemeni national scene, including the political and military situations, the economic and humanitarian challenges, the terrorist Houthi militias' continuing escalation and threats to marine navigation in the Arab and Red Seas as well as its insistence on blocking the peace process.

The Yemeni-American ongoing joint cooperation in the areas of economy, development, relief and humanitarian were key focus of the talks.

Al-Arada underscored the importance of further strengthening the partnership with the U.S. to support the government, build the national institutions and bolster its capacities in different fields.

For the Houthi militias' persistence threats to the regional and international security, a united and more decisive international action is imperative, al-Arada stressed.

The Member of PLC put blame of the terrorist Houthi militias and the Iranian interventions for the economic hardships and humanitarian crisis the Yemeni people have been enduring for more than 11 years.

The American Ambassador reaffirmed his administration's commitment to support the Yemeni people and work with regional and international partners to deal with the challenges.

Fagin noted that Yemen's security and stability is a priority in the U.S. policy toward the region.
