Role of private sector in National Youth Plan discussed in Aden

A meeting was held Wednesday here to discuss the role and contribution of the private sector in supporting youth as part of the National Youth Action Plan.

During the meeting, which is part of the consultative sessions conducted by the Youth Sector in the Ministry of Youth and Sports in partnership with UNICEF and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), representatives from the private sector and businessmen participated, Dr. Munir Lom'a, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Youth Sector emphasized that the private sector and businessmen are a vital backbone for security and stability, and a beacon of light illuminating the nation’s path.

He pointed out the importance of the private sector's role in construction, sustainable development, and addressing the critical issue of unemployment that afflicts communities.

Dr. Lom'a stated, "When the private sector extends its support and care for youth, it makes a genuine, effective, and constructive contribution to saving lives." He highlighted the significant reliance on the private sector to participate in visions, goals, activities, programs, and available support in the development process.

For her part, a consultant from UNICEF clarified that the plan takes into account all stakeholders related to youth, whether governmental bodies, the private sector, or women, within a framework of partnership to produce outcomes that assist youth in training, capacity building, empowerment, and finding solutions to the problems faced by youth in general, while identifying priorities that help this important segment of society.
