WB delegation inspects water projects in Lahj governorate

The delegation of the World Bank (WB) Group Office in Yemen led by the Country Director of the Office Dina Abu Ghaida and the Project Program Advisor at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Yemen Dr. Khaldon Salem inspected today, Sunday, the progress of the work on the new projects of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation (LWSC) in Lahj governorate, funded by the WB and carried out by the UNOPS Office in Yemen.

The Director of the LWSC Talal Abdul Jalil in the governorate told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the delegation visited the modern network project for fresh water in the city of al-Hawta. The total cost of the project is $1500.

Then, they inspected the progress in the project of supplying and installing a solar electricity generation system for the water re-pumping station in the water field in the Mughrs Naji area, the project's budget is $ 564,000.

The delegation also visited the project to rehabilitate the wastewater collection site in the Adani neighborhood of Al-Hawta city, by establishing a new retention tank and sewage pumps at a cost of $ 270,000 for the project.
