Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaha Zindani discussed with the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg on Friday latest developments in the national situation.
On the sideline of the 20th Regional Security Forum (Manama Dialogue,) Minister Zindani emphasized the Yemeni government's commitment to engaging with all regional and international efforts aimed at ending the war and achieving peace in Yemen.
He pointed out the importance of the international community applying pressure on the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias, highlighting their actions and violations against the Yemeni people, as well as the ongoing escalation in the Red Sea, which poses a threat to maritime navigation, international trade, and security and peace in the region.
For his part, the UN envoy addressed the efforts being made to de-escalate the situation, end the war, and achieve peace in Yemen within the framework of a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
