WB launches Yemen Climate, Development Report in Aden

The World Bank (WB) launched today, Thursday, in the temporary capital Aden, the Special Climate and Development Report in Yemen.
The report prepared by the WB in partnership with the Yemeni government represented by the Ministry of Water and Environment.
The Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq al-Sharjabi described the report as an important move to mobilize the efforts to address the climate change and development challenges.
"Releasing this report is a significant opportunity to direct efforts toward achieving the sustainable development and future', said al-Sharjabi, adding " Yemen is facing ad by a compound crisis in which the climate changes effects are intertwined with the conflict's consequences".
The WB Country Director for Yemen Donia Abu Ghaida stated that through this report, the WB provides in-depth details about the countries in which it operates, as it explores the challenges facing development.
The Ambassador of the Royal Netherlands to Yemen Jennette Seppen cited the overall projects, interventions and activities funded by the Dutch government in all sectors and fields, especially the ones related to confronting climate changes.
