The Speaker of the House of Representatives Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani inspected Tuesday the progress of the road construction and paving project linking al-Makha city with the districts of Mawzaa and al-Wazi'iah and the Hujariah districts in Taiz.

The Speaker listened to a detailed explanation from the specialized engineer on the three phases of the project, which extends over 37 kilometers and consists of two lanes and a central island.

The rock cutting work has been completed, and the construction of bridges and culverts is underway in preparation for paving, funded by the United Arab Emirates.

The Speaker expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh, for his efforts in implementing this vital project and for the significant development taking place in al-Makha city on all fronts.

He praised the positions of the United Arab Emirates and the support it provides in various fields to its brothers in Yemen, including funding for this project.

Al-Barakani also commended the efforts being made to implement this important project, emphasizing that this strategic project will represent a qualitative leap in commercial movement and the mobility of citizens, breaking the siege imposed by the Houthi terrorist militias on Taiz city and alleviating the suffering of the people of the governorate.
