Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure
Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasim Buhaybeh discussed with Dr. Majid al-Sharjabi, the Deputy Director of the Yaman Development Foundation for Health and Social Development health-related issues and joint projects.
During the meeting, Minister Buhaybeh reviewed the projects currently being implemented, which include resilience in their first, second, and third phases, as well as the types of interventions and the identification of target areas based on the Integrated Health Resilience System, which focuses on performance-based support and infrastructure enhancement.
He emphasized the importance of training health personnel and strengthening the health system, continuing to cover health vouchers, and incorporating mental health into interventions.
Minister Buhybeh also outlined the needs of the ministry and its plans aimed at improving the health work system, highlighting the importance of contributing to the support of educational curricula in health institutes and formulating educational programs in practical fields.
He stressed the necessity of developing a unified national educational program for midwifery and achieving recovery for the health sector, emphasizing the importance of building strategies that help health facilities withstand challenges and relying on prior assessments of needs before interventions.
