ABU DHABI - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. Gen. Aidaroos al-Zubaidi held a virtual meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Yemen Gabriel Munuera Viñals and the ambassadors of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Jeannette Seppen and the Federal Republic of Germany, Hubert Jager.
Talks went over a number of key issues, especially the terrorist Houthi escalation against international navigation routes in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden, and the growing impact, as a result, on the global economy and energy security, in addition to disasterous humanitarian impact on the lives of Yemenis.
Maj. Gen. al-Zubaidi affirmed that the hostile Houthi militia's conduct obviously reflects the militia's unwillingness and lack of seriousness about peace.
He reiterated his call for intensified cooperation between all local, regional and international parties to adopt a comprehensive deterrence strategy to keep the aggressiveness of the terrorist Houthi militia at bay.
The meeting also handled the economic and humanitarian situations in Yemen, and the possible ways to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the internationally recognized government to extricate Yemen out of its crisis.
