Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed al-Ashwal discussed today, Wednesday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the Chargé d' Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Yemen Shao Ch'ing prospects for further joint cooperation and bilateral economic and trade relations between the two friendly countries.
The talks covered several topics including the volume of trade exchange, the customs exemption to facilitate the procedures to help Yemeni exports access to Chinese markets directly and industrial investments between the two countries, especially in the fields of clean energy and medicine.
Al-Ashwal praised the depth of bilateral and historical trade relations between the two countries, highlighting the need to activate agreements signed between the two countries.
The Minister also sought for Chinese support for the Standards Authority with advanced laboratory equipment to examine the quality of food and medicine and develop the industrial base in a way that contributes to the development of the sustainable Yemeni
The Chinese diplomat affirmed that his country will provide all aspects of support and humanitarian assistance in various fields and all facilities and assistance to Yemeni traders, including customs and tax exemptions for Yemeni exports to China, praising Yemeni products that are widely demanded by China.
He also stated that China is seeking to establish a solar power plant worth 100 million Yuan.
