The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi held talks today, Thursday, with the British Minister for Development at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Anneliese Dodds over bilateral relations, the latest developments about the political process in Yemen and the impacts of the regional and international developments on the ongoing efforts to establish peace in Yemen.
The talks held on the on the sidelines of the International Climate Summit (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Dr. Al-Alimi's conversations with Dodds aimed to highlight the pressing need for British assistance to sustain the Yemeni government's efforts to carry out the economic reforms and to deliver on its obligations toward the Yemeni people.
The Member of the PLC briefed the British Minister on the developments in the Yemeni national arena, including the terrorist operations and attacks by the Iranian regime backed Houthi terrorist militias on the shipping lanes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The two sides underscored the importance of the continuation of the Yemeni-British cooperation to bolster the security and stability in Yemen.
The British Minister reiterated her country's support for the Yemeni government's efforts to establish the comprehensive and permanent peace, carry out the economic reforms and improve the basic services.
