The Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq al-Sharjabi discussed today, Thursday, with the Assistant Secretary-General and UNOPS Deputy Executive Director for Delivery and Partnerships Kirstine Damkjær the interventions in the two sectors of water and environment in Yemen.
The conversations took place on the sidelines of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP29), held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.
The talks focused on joint cooperation between the Ministry of Water and Environment and the UNOPS and the pressing needs areas of water, environment, service and development sectors.
Al-Sharajabi touched upon Yemen national program to finance climate change with the Fund of Green Climate, which launched by the Ministry of Water and Environment to address the challenges Yemen faced by due to climate changes, the requirements to mitigate the effects of the climate changes during the time from 2025 to 20230.
