Fifth Scientific Meeting of the Hadhrami Diabetes Association kicks off in Sayoon

The Fifth Scientific Meeting of the Hadhrami Diabetes Association has been inaugurated under the theme "Clinical Rounds in Endocrine Disorders and Diabetes," coinciding with World Diabetes Day.

The meeting aims to discuss 27 scientific research papers on the latest developments and medical advancements in the study of diabetes and endocrine diseases, with around 460 healthcare professionals participating from various health sectors both domestically and internationally over the course of two days.

During the opening ceremony, the Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut for the Valley and Desert districts, Amer Al-Amri, expressed his happiness that the city of Sayun is hosting this scientific meeting along with other scientific and research conferences, which reflects the level of stability in Hadhramaut Governorate, particularly in Sayun.

The deputy governor hoped that the meeting would produce scientific recommendations that contribute to improving the quality of services provided to diabetes patients, emphasizing the local authority's interest in the health sector by enhancing infrastructure, equipment, and personnel.

He praised the efforts made by the relevant health authorities in organizing this meeting.

For his part, Dr. Hani al-Amoudi, Director of the Public Health and Population Office, confirmed that the Ministry of Public Health and Population and relevant authorities are striving to establish clear priorities and a roadmap to bridge the gap between health sectors through holding such meetings, workshops, and specialized conferences.

He highlighted the importance of working along three main directions: intensifying community awareness, actively contributing to providing appropriate nutrition, and ensuring treatment for every patient.

Additionally, Dr. Hani Mubarak, President of the Hadhrami Diabetes Association, and Dr. Abdullah Bazmoul, Chair of the Organizing Committee for the meeting, provided an overview of the association's voluntary efforts to combat diabetes and mitigate its effects and complications on patients.
