Lahj Governor discusses humanitarian, relief interventions with WFP delegation

Governor of Lahj Major General Ahmed Turki discussed with a delegation from the World Food Program (WFP) on Thursday humanitarian and relief interventions in the province.

The governor, along with the delegation that included WFP Country Director Pierre Onrat and the Director of Aden office addressed issues related to humanitarian support, assistance for the poorest families, and the situation regarding the exclusion of beneficiaries from the Scoop program.

They also discussed updating beneficiary lists in collaboration with local authorities.
Both parties agreed to continue meetings to achieve full partnership between the local authority and the WFP, coordinating on the implementation of all support projects in the province, including updating and evaluating the lists of beneficiaries of the program's support.

Governor Turki praised the support provided by the WFP to the governorate, highlighting its contributions to food security projects and addressing some of the needs of citizens amidst increasing community hardships.

In response, the WFP Country Director pledged to work on resolving the issues concerning beneficiaries who were excluded from the Scoop program.
