Youth Minister seeks ILO's support for young men, women

Minister of Youth and Sports Nayef al-Bakri discussed today, Thursday, with the International Labor Organization( ILO ) Country Coordinator in Jordan and Regional Advisor for Employment Policies Amal Mowafi joint cooperation and programs to support youth and women and empower them politically and economically.

.Minister al-Bakri highlighted the need to establish an effective partnership between the Ministry and the ILO and opening new horizons for work and cooperation between the two sides in order to achieve the aspirations of the youth of our country in education, training, rehabilitation, empowerment and others.

The UN official explained that the aim of her visit and meeting with the leaders of the Ministry of Youth and Sports is to learn about the most important needs and interventions the organization can work on, especially in building the capacities of young people and creating sustainable job opportunities in the short and long term.

The two sides agreed to develop the necessary concepts for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the ministry and the organization, to implement a number of joint programs.
