Interior Minister: Yemen standing in frontlines against terrorism phenomenon

KUWAIT- SABA
Minister of Interior Maj. General Ibrahim Haidan said Yemen is standing in the frontlines to counter terrorism which constitutes a dangerous global challenge menacing the international security and peace, the Yemeni government is confronting the terrorism phenomenon's risks on a daily basis amid the ongoing collaboration between Houthi militias and the terrorism organizations, specifically al-Qaeda organization.

His statement came in a speech he delivered today, Monday, at the opening session of the high-level conference on " Reinforcing International Cooperation about Fighting Terrorism and Building Resilience Mechanisms for Borders Security-Kuwait Phase of the Dushanbe Process.

The two-day gathering organized by the State of Kuwait in cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan and the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism.

The Interior Minister highlighted the need for constant international support to help the Yemeni government contributing actively toward countering terrorism.

" Security situation in Yemen requires persistent international support, including logistical assistance, information exchange and financial aids to strengthen the Yemeni government capacities to counter terrorism and secure the borders", said Haidan.
