PM approves strategy for coast guard capacity building

Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak has approved a strategy for building the overall capacity of the Coast Guard Authority, including advanced training and equipping process to support the forces' preparedness and capability to protect the Yemeni coasts and islands and combat various threats in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The premier approved the strategy in a meeting with the chief of the Coast Guard Authority Khaled Al-Qamli here today.
Al-Qamli had briefed him on the objectives of the strategy and the role expected from it in strengthening the capabilities of the Coast Guard forces to protect territorial waters and put an end to maritime smuggling.
