[28/10/2024 06:28]
RIYADH - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Tariq Saleh affirmed that restoring stability in Yemen depends on international efforts to support the legitimate government in asserting its control over the entire national territory and preventing Yemen from becoming a platform for threatening the security of the region and the world.

In his meeting with the British Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif on Monday, the two parties discussed the situation in Yemen and the challenges facing peace efforts amid the Houthi militia's relinquish of its commitments and its rejection of all regional and international initiatives in this regard.

Tariq Saleh emphasized the government's commitment to supporting peace efforts, stressing the need for a unified international approach to the Yemeni crisis that takes into account the dangers posed by the Houthi militia to regional security, as it serves as an Iranian tool designed by Tehran to destabilize the region and threaten navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

For her part, the British Ambassador reiterated London’s understanding of these risks and its rejection of all activities that undermine global navigation security, reaffirming her country’s support for the Yemeni government and the Presidential Leadership Council, as well as for efforts to achieve peace under the auspices of the United Nations.
