Yemen took part in the 51st general assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) in Kuwait today, with the participating delegation being led by the Chairman of Board and Editor-in-Chief of the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) Abdullah Hizam.
At the outset of the conference, in which the chiefs of Arab news agencies and the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council participate as observers, the Chairman of FANA and Acting Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM) Dr. Jamal Al-Ka'abi, said that the conference is meant to address a number of issues and challenges facing Arab news agencies and consider ways to promote media cooperation, exchange expertise, and seek to develop media mechanisms in line with current technological developments to enhance coordination among newswires as they undertake the mission of covering regional and international events and news.
The FANA conference is also discussing the challenges facing Arab media, including increasing competition from digital media and social platforms.
