The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation for International Cooperation Omar Abdulaziz discussed Sunday here with the National Coordinator for the Shelter Cluster at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Marta Ko Donkor joint coordination efforts between the government and the UNHCR to support humanitarian cases for displaced persons, refugees, and migrants.
The meeting, which included specialists from the ministry, addressed the humanitarian interventions provided by the UNHCR in several liberated areas, the draft strategy of the UNHCR for the years 2025 - 2028, and the essential needs presented by government entities to shift from an emergency situation to a dignified living for humanitarian cases affected by the war crisis.
The Undersecretary emphasized that the government faces significant challenges and is in urgent need of humanitarian work partnerships to overcome this phase.
He pointed out the importance of enhancing cooperation between the ministry and the UNHCR to work towards sustainable solutions for the issues facing the country.
For her part, the international official outlined the efforts made by the UNHCR in providing humanitarian assistance and various support for Yemen, confirming the UNHCR's interest in coordinating with the ministry and relevant government sectors to find appropriate solutions to the current situation, in line with declining funding and contributing to providing dignified shelter.
