Defense Minister Major General Mohsen al-Dairi met Wednesday with the Turkish Ambassador to Yemen Mustafa Polat, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Yemen amid ongoing regional changes and the continued threats posed by the Houthi militia to international navigation and commercial vessels.
The defense minister praised the bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, looking forward to enhancing joint cooperation, especially in military and technical training and rehabilitation.
Major General Al-Dairi highlighted the popular discontent and unrest in areas controlled by the Houthi militia, rejecting the starvation, looting, and taxes imposed on citizens under various pretexts.
He emphasized that the Yemeni people will not compromise their freedom and dignity for those who claim divine rights to power and wealth.
For his part, the Turkish ambassador noted the strong bilateral relations between the two countries, affirming his country's support for Yemen and its leadership, and expressing hope for further cooperation between the two nations.
