Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. Gen. Aidaroos al-Zubaidi has urged the international community to the PLC to end the anarchy and mess the Houthi militia exercise, and to co-operate in bringing end the humanitarian suffering in Yemen to end.
Addressing the UN Security Council open debate "Leadership for Peace: United In Respect of the UN Charter, In Search of a Secure Future," he emphasized the need to contain the Houthi threat posed to global, regional and Yemeni security, and to send a clear message that Houthi violence and tyranny cannot continue without penalty.
He also called for addressing the exacerbating economic situations, noting that such steps enable us to find a way towards a comprehensive political process led by Yemen and sponsored regionally and internationally to ensure a sustainable political solution.
He said, "Leadership for peace starts from this hall and is without doubt the obligation of the Security Council, but it is often short of the necessary political to fulfill its responsibilities, and hence conflicts worsen and spread, and this is what is going on in Yemen."
