Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasem Buhaibeh has reviewed updates on the health situation.
In a meeting held Monday here, the Minister stressed the importance of the media's role in raising community health awareness on various health topics and contributing to positive behavioral change in society, which enhances preventive measures against epidemics and diseases.
He also addressed the issue of reduced funding for several health programs and activities due to decreased support from partners.
Dr. Buhaibeh highlighted the series of measures and actions taken by the ministry and the government to address funding shortages and mitigate their impact.
He called for self-reliance in implementing healthcare services and for innovative solutions, urging a unification of efforts across various related sectors to combat epidemics and diseases.
Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Primary Health Care Dr. Ali al-Walidi outlined the measures aimed at implementing a vaccination campaign against cholera in the liberated governorates.
This campaign, supported by partners, will target over three million citizens across six governorates distributed over 34 districts, based on epidemiological indicators.
He noted that the ministry has recently received three million and eight hundred thousand vaccine doses.
