Yemen chairs meetings of the 162nd Session of Arab League Council at ministerial level

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya al- Zindani led today, Tuesday, the discussions of the 162nd Session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of foreign ministers.

Dr. al-Zindabu received the rotating presidency of the Council of the League from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Merzouk.

He expressed his privilege for the Republic of Yemen assuming the rotating presidency of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of Foreign Ministers.

"The national and historical responsibility entrusted to joint Arab action requires us to make this session a new starting point to address the emerging crises and overcome all challenges", he said.

Al-Zindani added" The Republic of Yemen is very keen to push the collective Arab action and joint cooperation to defend the interests of the Arab nation and peoples".

The Foreign Minister touched on the suffering of the Palestinian people, who are still subjected to the eleventh month of the most heinous crimes by the Israeli occupation forces.

He underscored the importance of exploring a unified Arab action plan to mobilize an international pressures upon Israel to stop its crimes in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and the entire occupied Palestinian territory.

" Arab joint efforts must be amplified to reach cease-fire in Gaza Strip", al-Zindani stressed.
