Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Shaya Zindani held talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov here today and discussed areas of cooperation between Yemen and Russia, and developments in Yemen and the region.

Yemen's minister stressed that Russo-Yemeni ties are witnessing positive developments through the formation of a joint committee, the reactivation of a number of bilateral cooperation pacts, and the trend towards signing new cooperation agreements in various economic fields.

He spoke highly of the Russian government's supportive position towards Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, government and people and the Russian contributions to achieve peace.

The Russian Foreign Minister indicated that his country has decided to increase scholarship grants for Yemeni students seeking higher education in Russia in various fields and specializations.
