Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries Lieutenant General Salem al-Socotri, discussed on Monday in the temporary capital Aden with the Director of the Executive Bureau for Accelerating the Absorption of Donor Pledges Dr. Afrah al-Zuba the projects related to the development and improvement of performance in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
The meeting touched on the fish farming project and the projects related to the development of the institutional structure in the ministry and its affiliated offices and agencies, in addition to the plan prepared by the specialists in the ministry and the experts of the Executive Bureau, which included basic priorities related to institutional building, and the rehabilitation of cadres in the ministry and in important specializations.
Minister al-Socotri reviewed the achievements made, whether in the field of providing infrastructure services or the completed or ongoing projects in the agricultural and fisheries sectors specifically, starting with the rehabilitation of the fishing port and the projects of the fish landing centers in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
Establishing national centers for milk, honey and genetic resources, and the preparation of studies on fish farming areas, was also discussed.
