Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Wa'ed Batheeb discussed Thursday here with the UNDP Resident Representative in Yemen Zainab Ali the programs and projects implemented by the program and the plans of supporting the development plans in the country.

The meeting, attended by the Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhayb, touched on a number of important issues related to the program's interventions in various fields, including the Rural Resilience project, institutional building programs, as well as projects to develop the fisheries sector and water resources management.

Dr. Batheeb praised the great efforts made by the UNDP in supporting and assisting the government's plans and programs, emphasizing the importance of these efforts in achieving economic reforms and moving towards sustainable development as a basic pillar for the advancement of the country's reality.

Minister Bathib pointed out to the obstacles facing humanitarian work in the country due to the practices and tampering of the terrorist Houthi militia, the latest of which was the campaign of kidnappings and arrests against workers in UN and international organizations, and the importance of taking effective steps to protect their workers and the need to move the main centers and headquarters of organizations to the temporary capital Aden, warning of the repercussions of these practices on humanitarian work, especially in light of the exacerbation of the humanitarian situation.

For her part, the UN official explained that the program is currently working to reorganize its priorities in the implementation of future projects and interventions, praising the high level of coordination and great facilities provided by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, which contribute greatly to the successful implementation of projects in Yemen.

In another context, the Minister of Planning discussed with the President of the University of Aden, Dr. al-Khadher Nasser Laswar, the implemented projects at the university and the urgent academic and educational needs, and ways to benefit from the support provided by international cooperation programs and donor organization funding.
