Presidential Office source says central bank governor will stay in his position

A Presidential Office source has stated that the Chairman and members of the Presidential Leadership Council unanimously rejected the resignation of the central bank's governor Ahmed al-Mabaqi.

The source said the bank governor has changed his mind about the resignation decision and will stay in position with the full support of the Leadership Council and the government to continue comprehensive banking reforms with backing from brothers and friends.
The source called on the media to reckon with the sensitivity of dealing with issues concerning with the banking sector, the financial community, and the social interests.
