the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's "Masam" project for demining Yemeni lands was able to removes 989 landmines from various regions in Yemen during the third week of July 2024.
The removed landmines included 5 anti-personnel mines, 46 anti-tank mines, 935 unexploded ordnance, and 3 explosive devices.
In Aden, the team removed 277 pieces of unexploded ordnance. In Qatabah District, Dhalea Governorate, they removed one unexploded item.
In Hodeidah Governorate, the Masam team removed 7 unexploded ordnance in Hais District and 11 in Al-Khawkhah District.
In Marib, the team removed one unexploded item in Raghwan District, one anti-personnel mine in Harib District, and 43 anti-tank mines and 495 unexploded ordnance in Marib District.
In Shabwa, the team removed 9 unexploded items in Usailan District and 2 anti-personnel mines in al-Ain District.
The Masam team- in Taiz- removed 2 anti-personnel mines, 3 anti-tank mines, and 59 unexploded ordnance in Thu Bab District, 75 unexploded ordnance in Al-Mukha District, and 3 improvised explosive devices in Saber District.
The total number of landmines removed during July reached 2,840, while the total number of landmines removed since the start of the Masam project is 451,908, which were randomly planted in various Yemeni lands, claiming more innocent victims among children, women and the elderly.
