The eighth session of the Yemeni-Egyptian Strategic Dialogue was launched today, Tuesday, in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The two-day dialogue is chaired by the foreign ministers of the two countries, Dr. Shaya Zindani and Sameh Shukry.
The senior officials' session, chaired by the Yemeni Ambassador to Egypt Khaled Bahah and the Assistant Egyptian Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ambassador Mohamed Al-Badri, discussed the strategic issues of concern to the two countries, led by the file of bilateral relations and ways to push and enhance them, the security of the Red Sea amid the continued Houthi threats to maritime navigation, the situation in the Gaza Strip, and the peace file in Yemen.
The ministerial session is scheduled to be held tomorrow, Wednesday, chaired by the foreign ministers of the two counties to approve the outcomes of the current session of the Yemeni-Egyptian Strategic Dialogue, which comes after a long period of interruption due to the conditions experienced by our country.
It is worth noting that the sessions of the Yemeni-Egyptian Strategic Dialogue began their first session in 1998 and its seventh session was held in 2010 before being resumed this year, in light of the conditions prevailing in the region, based on the leadership of the two countries' belief in the importance of cooperation and coordination on various issues.
