The Al-Hilal team won the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup for the current sports season 2023 - 2024, after defeating the Al-Nassr team on penalties 5-4, after the original and extra time ended in a positive draw of one goal each, and they had to resort to penalties.
In the final match that brought them together at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Jeddah, Al-Hilal opened the scoring in the first half of the match with a goal scored by their player Aleksandar Mitrović in the 7th minute, while Al-Nassr player Ayman Yahya was able to equalize the score in the 88th minute of the second half, ending the match in a positive draw, resorting to two extra time periods.
The penalty shootout goals for Al-Hilal were scored by Aleksandar Mitrović, Mohammed Kanno, Hassan Tombekti, Abdullah Al-Hamdan, and Nasser Al-Dosari, while Thiago Neves and Saud Abdulhamid missed the scoring.
Al-Nassr scored with Cristiano Ronaldo, Sami Al-Najei, Abdel Rahman Gharib, and Ali Lajami, while Ali Al-Hasan and Mashari Al-Nemer missed the scoring.
The match witnessed the sending off of Al-Nassr goalkeeper David Ospina in the 56th minute, and Al-Hilal players Ali Al-Buleahi and Senegalese Kalidou Koulibaly in the 87th and 90th minutes.
With this victory, Al-Hilal wins the title for the second consecutive time and the eleventh time in its history, collecting the double in the current season, after having already achieved the Saudi Professional League championship.
