The Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfiq al-Sharjabi signed Wednesday an agreement with the Smartian Piers organization to implement a water project in the Yakhtil and al-Baqiriyah areas of al-Mukha district, Taiz governorate.
The project components include the installation of a solar-powered water pumping system in al-Baqiriyah, with operating rooms, the construction and rehabilitation of elevated water tanks for water distribution in Yakhtil and al-Baqiriyah, and a pipeline network.
Additionally, the project includes training and capacity building for the local water committees in the area.
The Minister of Water and Environment emphasized the importance of expanding the implementation of water projects in rural areas across various governorates to ensure water security, improve the level of services provided to citizens, and meet the growing demand in this vital and essential service sector.
Engineer Al-Sharjabi praised the efforts of the Smartian Piers organization through the implementation of the water project for the Yakhtil and al-Baqiriyah areas, which aims in the long term to improve the management of water supply quantities in this region that suffers from a scarcity of water resources.
