Tariq Saleh, oil minister discuss status of fuel supply in liberated regions

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Tariq Saleh and Minister of Oil and Minerals Dr. Saeed al-Shamisi discussed today the status of fuel supply in the liberated regions of Yemen.

Talks went over plans to improve the ministry’s performance, enhance its surveillance of the fuel market, and mitigate the impact of the Houthi terrorist attacks targeting the national economy

The Leadership Council's member also discussed with the oil minister the modality for benefiting from locally produced oil and lessening dependence on fuel imports, which poses a big problem for the economy in as it depletes hard currency in the country.

The Presidential Leadership Council's member laid emphasis on finding effective mechanisms to control fuel prices and set a unified price in the local market as to prevent the recurrent rises in the price of fuel, and on boost the Ministry’s oversight over oil stations to ensure that fuel is not manipulated.
