Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure

Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Minister of Defense Lit. Gen. Mohsen al-Daeri held talks with the Country Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) for Yemen Rehana Zawar here today on cooperation between the ministry and the UNOPS.

Talks also went over supporting educational institutes, and equipping military hospitals to enable them to improve the quality of health services they offer to the public. Minister al-Daeri praised the efforts made by the UNOPS office through the implementation of development projects in various fields.
