The Minister of Public Works and Roads Engineer Salem al-Harizi discussed Thursday with the program specialists and the supervisor of the Japanese support project for Lahj, the contributions of the projects funded by the Japanese government.

The meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Public Works Dr. Mohammad Thabit and the Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Public Works Sector Engineer Hussain al-Aqrabi, addressed the implementation mechanism of the Fifty-Road project in the Mansoura Directorate and the road extending in front of the Home for the Disabled in the Sheikh Othman Directorate in Aden Governorate, and reviewed the necessary engineering plans and studies for the implementation of these Japanese-funded projects.

Minister al-Harizi praised the role played by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and its interventions in all fields, emphasizing the Ministry's readiness to overcome all difficulties facing the implementation of development projects.

For his part, the Japanese official reviewed the engineering plans and studies that will be prepared for the implementation of the targeted projects, with the necessary tests.

He indicated that upon completion of these studies, a tender will be announced for the implementation of the planned project, which is scheduled to start in early 2025.
