Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Tareq Saleh, along with Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan, inaugurated on Wednesday al-Kadaha-al-Berain Road, which has been built with support from the United Arab Emirates.
The road aims at alleviating the harshness of the siege imposed on the city of Taiz by Houthi Terrorist Militia.
During the inauguration, Tareq Saleh expressed his delight at the opening of this vital project, coinciding with the 22nd National Day of the Republic of Yemen. He affirmed that the road represents the lifeline of the city of Taiz, the beating heart of Yemen.
"The Houthis have cut off the arteries of the city, but by the grace of God and thanks to all the efforts, we will open all the closed arteries and roads of the governorate," he said.
He announced the start of the second phase of the project soon, praising the support of the United Arab Emirates and its President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for this project that serves millions of Yemenis in Taiz and alleviates the suffering of the siege.
He stressed that the Houthis are seeking to destroy Taiz and isolate it from its surroundings.
The member of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his confidence that victory is coming and the restoration of the capital Sanaa is a fixed principle and an irreversible goal, which will be achieved through the unification of efforts and the support of the brothers in the Arab Coalition.
The road is an important lifeline for the city of Taiz, extending 14 kilometers and connecting the city to the liberated governorates.
It was built at a cost of USD 8 million and took a year and a half to complete.
