Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi restated that the PLC has been unwaveringly seeking to establish a fair and an inclusive peace that is based on the basic references including the GCC's Initiative, its executive mechanism, outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and International Security Council resolution 2216.
During his conversations today, Monday, with the French Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Katherine Corm Kammoun, he blamed Iran-allied Houthi militias for prolonging the conflict, worsening the Yemeni people's suffering.
He said " We've been very keen to make peace in order to put an end of the Yemeni people's ordeal.
To this end, the PLC and the government have already made significant concessions".
Dr. al-Alimi called on the international community to support the internationally recognized government so that it can take control over all Yemeni territories and exclusively possess weapons.
" International community must practically mount pressure upon the Houthi militias, substantially sustaining the official government's efforts to take control over the entire Yemeni lands, to have exclusively the right to possess weapons, otherwise these terrorist militias will continue to be a source of terrorism internally and externally", he said.
The PLC's member reiterated the PLC's support for all efforts have been made by the UN's envoy to Yemen and the good offices of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman in order to achieve peace in Yemen.
Dr. al-Alimi also greatly valued France's significant support for the internationally recognized Yemeni government and leadership.
The French Ambassador has confirmed France's support for the Yemeni government's efforts and all regional and international good offices to make peace in Yemen.
Kammoun reiterated Paris' support for the PLC, Yemen's security, unity and stability.
