Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Minister al-Sharjabi discusses water, sanitation projects in Hadhramout

Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfiq al-Sharjabi discussed Sunday with the Director-General of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in the Coast of Hadhramout Engineer Omar Al-Jafari and a technical team from the corporation and the ministry the needs of the governorate regarding water projects and sanitation services.

The meeting addressed the difficulties and challenges facing the corporation, as well as the level of collection, revenues, and debts owed by others, in addition to the level of implementation of sustainable projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens in the current circumstances.

Minister al-Sharjabi affirmed the ministry's keenness to meet the needs of citizens regarding water and sanitation projects, and he discussed the efforts made to secure the necessary funding to develop the general water and sanitation network system for all districts in the Coast of Hadhramout, including expanding the use of solar energy to operate water wells.

The Director-General of the corporation praised the efforts of the Ministry of Water and Environment, its responsiveness, and its commitment to providing the governorate's project requirements and supporting operational and maintenance needs.
